Evolute Falcon L1 Fingerprint Scanner

The built-in fingerprint scanner is one of the main components of the Falcon L1.

Evolute’s published specifications identify the biometric sensor as an STQC RD Service-certified optical fingerprint sensor, supporting standard fingerprint template formats including ISO 19794-2/4 and ANSI/INCITS 378, with 500 dpi resolution. The documentation also lists FBI PIV IQS certification.

This biometric capability allows the Falcon to be used with supported authentication and banking applications.

This can be useful for mobile banking and field-service operators who need to carry the biometric and printing equipment to different customer locations.

The device also supports USB communication when a wired connection is required.

Evolute Falcon L1 for AEPS Banking

The Evolute Falcon is designed for financial applications including AEPS (Aadhaar Enabled Payment System) and other supported banking services.

Depending on the banking or payment application, the Falcon can support services such as:

Aadhaar-based authentication

Cash deposit
Fund transfer

Customer authentication
Retail payment services
Transaction receipt printing

Evolute describes the Falcon as a Micro-ATM for AEPS and lists eKYC, cash withdrawals, cash deposits, cash transfers and retail payments among its supported application areas.

Important: Actual bank/CSP compatibility depends on the specific banking application, merchant ID, RD service and software configuration. A device being technically capable of a function does not guarantee compatibility with every bank portal or CSP application.

Evolute Falcon L1 for Bank CSP and BC Points

The Evolute Falcon L1 can be useful for Bank Customer Service Points (CSPs) and Business Correspondents (BCs) that require biometric authentication and receipt printing, including Fino Payment Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India (UBI), Central Bank of India (CBI), Canara Bank, SpiceMoney and Indian Overseas Bank (IOB).

Its integrated design means the operator does not necessarily need to carry a separate fingerprint scanner and thermal printer.

The device can connect to compatible mobile, tablet or computer applications through Bluetooth or USB.

Hardwiz Solutions supplies the Falcon for customers using supported banking and financial-service applications.

Evolute Falcon L1 for eKYC

The fingerprint scanner in the Falcon L1 can be used for supported eKYC and biometric authentication applications.

The biometric scanner captures the user’s fingerprint while the application manages the authentication process.

The integrated thermal printer can then be used to print a transaction receipt or acknowledgement when supported by the application.

Evolute Falcon L1 RD Service

The Evolute Falcon documentation lists Aadhaar Registered Device Service support.

RD Service allows compatible applications to communicate with the registered biometric device according to the applicable authentication architecture.

For a Falcon L1 setup, customers should verify:

Correct Falcon model
Correct L1 RD service
RD service registration/status
Banking application compatibility
Device detection
Internet connectivity
Correct Android/Windows configuration

The required RD service package or validity should be confirmed before purchase if a particular bank or application requires a specific configuration.

Evolute Falcon L1 Battery

The Falcon uses a 7.4V 1500mAh rechargeable battery according to Evolute’s published specification.

The integrated battery makes the device suitable for mobile banking and field applications where continuous wired power may not be convenient.

Hardwiz Solutions also lists a replacement Falcon battery separately when available.
